STUFF OUR TRUCK

Though we are a young business, we can’t even BEGIN to count how many times we’ve been in need and had to rely on the kindness of strangers. From raising the startup capital to build our truck, to hitchhiking to our cars when our truck broke down, to the encouragement and cheers of kind people in little city in the middle of a state we had never been to we have seen firsthand and been humbled by the goodness of others. Sophia always says that starting this truck has restored her faith in humanity.Without these random and deliberate act of kindness from friends and strangers who saw our passion and drive and helped in so many ways, our business would have failed before it even started.

After a hard first year and a half, our truck and business are excited to give back to the community and we want to do this in a couple of ways. Our first campaign is a canned food drive benefiting Haven House.
Haven House (www.havenhousenc.org) was founded in 1973 in Wake County and provides community based services to at-risk youth and their families. It’s a place of refuge for young people experiencing difficult circumstances and provides mentoring, shelter for runaways, counseling, gang outreach, skills for success classes, and Second Round Boxing – a program that focuses on discipline, self-control and empowerment. One of many things that Haven House needs for it’s youth is food to take home. Often times these youth may not have access to food outside of meals provided by the school, or meals at the Haven House.

So, how can you help with the canned food drive and what will we do with the food?!

1. STUFF OUR TRUCK – We are turning our truck to a moving Can Food Drive. We want you to bring a can or 10 to the truck! If you forget your cans on the way to the truck, don’t fret! We’ll have a donation jar as well. Don’t forget to tell your friends and family too!

2. CAN FOR A CAN – For every Can or package of non perishable good, we will match it! That’s TWICE the amount of cans guys!

3. ONE MORE CAN! – We want to encourage our able friends to do the same and pledge to match the cans we collect. If you are interested, please contact us at info@phonomenaldumplings.com and we will add your name to the matching program. More cans!!

So go! Dig through that pantry at home and BRING US THOSE CANS!
